The School:

East Bay Japanese Language School is a non-profit Ministry of the East Bay Free Methodist Church. The purpose is to teach Japanese language/music/culture and character building through biblical teaching.

We accept students from Preschool to High school and offer "Learn as you enjoy the languages, music, and culture" approach in our style of teaching. The school is operated by the Language School Committee of the East Bay Free Methodist Church.
Curriculum:

The school accepts students from preschool to high school. Currently, we offer 5 classes from beginners to equivalent levels of second or third grade elementary school in Japan.

Course curriculum and schedule are set up at beginning of each semester and sent to parents. Report cards are used to notify parents of students' progress. There are some tests and homework, however none of the work should interfere or burden students' regular school work and activities. In addition to studying language, Japanese cultural activities such as folk songs, origami, karuta, shuji, and Japanese cooking are incorporated in the teaching. "Bible Stories and Lessons" are taught with fun and will enhance students' spiritual growth as well as character building.
